Renqiu, Hebei: Motorcycle Manufacturer Runs at Full Capacity To Fulfill Export Orders

As spring arrives, workshops roar with machinery, composing a new movement for foreign trade expansion. Right after the Lunar New Year, the intelligent workshop of Hebei Hengsheng Jinhe Motorcycle Co., Ltd., located in Jinqiao Industrial Zone, Lügongpu Town, Renqiu City, is bustling with activity. Multiple automated assembly lines operate at full tilt. Workers orderly complete the whole production process including frame welding, power assembly, full-vehicle inspection and packaging, rushing to deliver bulk tricycle export orders bound for South America and Africa.

Inside the factory compound, the newly launched intelligent general assembly line runs efficiently. Automated conveyor belts accurately transport semi-finished frames, with robotic arms and digital testing equipment fully deployed. The whole production line steadily rolls out 300 complete vehicles per day, including passenger tricycles, heavy-duty cargo tricycles and electric commuter tricycles. After waterproof film wrapping and solid wood reinforcement for container shipment, finished vehicles stand ready for delivery, marked with striking "Made in Renqiu, China" logos that showcase the strength of local manufacturing.

"Our overseas order backlog stretches all the way to May. This year we focus on tapping emerging markets in South America and West Africa, aiming to lift our export proportion up to 60%," said Chen Wentong, General Manager of Hebei Hengsheng Jinhe Motorcycle Co., Ltd. With over 20 years of experience in complete vehicle manufacturing, the company owns two independent brands "Hengsheng" and "Jinhexing", offering more than 30 models customized for global markets. Vehicles are specially optimized to fit road conditions, tropical climates and import regulations of Uruguay, Togo, Thailand and other countries. Fuel tricycles feature heavy load capacity and enhanced heat dissipation, while electric tricycles cater to the global trend of eco-friendly mobility. Reliable product quality and one-stop foreign trade supporting services have secured continuous bulk purchase orders from overseas distributors, with full containers shipped overseas nonstop from domestic ports.

Renqiu’s tricycle industry has developed over four decades since motorcycle manufacturing first took root here in the 1990s. It has grown into a complete transportation equipment industrial cluster with over 1,000 supporting manufacturers. Local tricycles hold more than one quarter of China’s domestic market share, with annual export value exceeding 100 million RMB. Amid industrial transformation, over 70% of local tricycle manufacturers have upgraded production lines for electric vehicles. Eighteen large-scale manufacturers maintain long-term technical cooperation with research institutes, filing dozens of new patents for vehicle structures and power systems each year, laying a solid industrial foundation for mass tricycle exports.

To fully unlock the company’s export production capacity, Renqiu Bureau of Science, Industry, Information Technology and Commerce has launched a full package of supportive policies. Special service teams were stationed at the factory right after the Spring Festival to address labor, power and financing challenges: over 200 skilled technicians were coordinated to fill labor shortages amid production expansion; special industrial loans worth over 100 million RMB were granted to support intelligent production line renovation and bulk raw material procurement. The local government also streamlined export customs clearance and certificate of origin procedures to cut foreign trade costs, offering comprehensive support for local manufacturers going global.

The fully operational production scene at Hebei Hengsheng Jinhe Motorcycle vividly reflects Renqiu’s industrial transformation and foreign trade growth — from traditional fuel tricycles to mass-produced new energy vehicles, and from domestic-only sales to simultaneous development across South America, Africa and Southeast Asia. Moving forward, the enterprise will ramp up R&D investment for electric tricycles, upgrade exclusive models for overseas demand, and improve overseas spare parts warehouses and localized after-sales service systems. The local government will further strengthen industrial cluster advantages and leverage policy incentives to send more high-quality "Renqiu tricycles" to the world, steadily expanding the market share of Chinese manufacturing in the global short-distance transport sector.
